Why this under counter freezer earns its place
The CD081 is an undercounter freezer from Polar's C-Series, built to drop into a counter run and keep frozen stock at the point of use. Sitting 855 mm tall and 600 mm deep below the worktop, it takes no floor footprint—a format that suits a kitchen where every metre of space is already spoken for and a stand-alone freezer isn't an option.
Under the bench it works as back-of-house support storage rather than a display case, holding 78 litres of portioned and bagged frozen stock across two shelves through service, so the walk-in or main freezer stays free for bulk. Keeping a small reserve within arm's reach of the section cuts down on trips mid-service. It reaches -25 to -10 °C in a compact stainless steel cabinet with 60 mm insulation, and at 44 kg it's light enough that two people can manhandle it into place.
The stainless steel exterior wipes down as part of the daily clean, in keeping with a surface that sits directly under a working counter. Energy-efficient at A-rated, it runs at just 1.4 kWh per day (511 kWh annually). As an undercounter format it replaces a bench section rather than standing on the floor, so measure the aperture in your run and plan the fit before ordering. Leave the unit's front clear for loading, and check that the surrounding cabinetry still allows ventilation around the sides and back for the unit to run efficiently once it's installed.
