Why this stainless lid chest freezer earns its place
The EL22SS is a compact solid-lid chest freezer for frozen bulk storage where floor space is tight. At 200 litres gross and 177 litres net in a 720 mm-wide cabinet, it holds a useful amount of frozen stock without the footprint of a full-size chest — the kind of unit that slots into a back kitchen, prep area or cellar and quietly takes the overflow. A white body with a stainless-steel lid gives it a hard-wearing, wipe-clean top.
Day to day it holds -23 to -16 °C under a mechanical controller, with manual defrost, so you run it down and clear the ice on a schedule. At energy class C it uses 343.1 kWh a year — about £86 a year at 25p/kWh (EEI 25.8) — and it carries a climate class 3 rating. Input power is 124 W.
The cabinet measures 720 × 729 × 861 mm externally and 606 × 536 × 696 mm inside, shipping packed at 765 × 760 × 940 mm — the 720 mm external width clears most standard doorways. At 46 kg gross it is light enough to reposition, and it runs off a standard 13 amp supply at 220-240 V using R600a refrigerant with a 60 g charge.
