Why this low temperature chest freezer earns its place
The SE20-45 is the mid-size model in the low-temperature chest range, sitting between the compact and large-volume cabinets for kitchens that need real deep-freeze capacity without a full-width unit. It offers 235 litres gross and 230 litres net across an internal space of 820 × 440 × 705 mm, and runs down to -45 °C, far colder than a standard commercial freezer.
It holds a temperature band of -45 to -5 °C under an electronic controller, with static cooling and a manual defrost, so plan the defrost into your cleaning routine. Running noise is rated at 45 dB, and it carries climate class 3, so keep it clear of ovens and other heat sources to hold that deep-freeze temperature reliably.
The cabinet is 984 × 705 × 945 mm externally and weighs 62 kg, so measure your floor space and access route before delivery. It plugs into a standard 13 A socket on a 220–240 V supply and uses R290 hydrocarbon refrigerant with a 55 g charge. It draws about 1,295.8 kWh a year — roughly £324 a year at 25p/kWh.
