Why this low temperature chest freezer earns its place
The SE10-45 is a compact low-temperature chest freezer built for stock that has to be held far colder than a standard freezer manages. It offers 155 litres gross and 152 litres net inside a cabinet of 570 × 440 × 705 mm, so it stores a useful volume of deep-frozen product without taking much floor. Unlike a standard commercial freezer, this unit runs down to -45 °C.
It holds a temperature band of -45 to -5 °C under an electronic controller, with static cooling and a manual defrost, so plan the defrost into your cleaning routine. Running noise is rated at 45 dB, and it carries climate class 3, so keep it clear of ovens and other heat sources to hold temperature reliably.
The cabinet is 734 × 705 × 945 mm externally and weighs 54 kg, making it manageable to position and easy to route through a standard doorway. It plugs into a 13 A socket on a 220–240 V supply and uses R290 hydrocarbon refrigerant with a 40 g charge. It draws about 1,259.2 kWh a year — roughly £315 a year at 25p/kWh.
