Why this walk-in fridge earns its place
The Tefcold CRPF2730 is a large walk-in chiller room supplied as one package — insulated panels, monoblock cooling and electronic control — giving a substantial 2540 × 2840 mm floor and 2040 mm of height. It holds fresh stock at a steady 0 to +8 °C, the chilled band for meat, dairy and prepped ingredients, and its footprint suits a high-volume kitchen consolidating bulk deliveries, racked stock and daily prep into one cold store rather than a wall of upright cabinets.
It runs on R290 refrigerant with a 170 g charge and defrosts automatically by hot gas, so ice clears without a manual shutdown. The electronic controller holds the setpoint across the 0 to +8 °C range and the plant draws 910 W in use. Rated at 60 dB, it is a back-of-house machine, and the white internal lining wipes down for routine hygiene and HACCP checks.
The room assembles on site from flat panels, with a single hinged solid door giving a 700 mm wide by 1845 mm high opening for trolleys and racking. Built up it weighs 731 kg net (761 kg gross), so a level, load-bearing floor is essential. Cooling is by R290 and the setpoint is electronically managed; continuous running works out at about £2135 a year at 25p/kWh.
