Why this display fridge earns its place
The Polar G-Series GE581 is a floor-standing glass-door display cooler with eight adjustable shelves and around 950 litres of chilled space. The glass front puts chilled stock on show, the overhead light box draws the eye to the full display, and the sliding doors open without swinging into an aisle—a key feature for tight retail layouts. It's a self-service merchandising cabinet for drinks and grab-and-go lines where customers pick straight from the shelf and pay.
Through the day it works as a self-service display: customers slide a door, take stock and the door slides back, keeping the range chilled at 2 to 6 °C for pick-and-go. The cabinet runs at energy class C with 1,623 kWh per year, which is efficient for a large floor display in a busy retail environment. The forced-air cooling holds display temperature even when doors are opened frequently during trading.
The cabinet measures 2,036 mm high, 1,200 mm wide and 730 mm deep, and weighs 177 kg, so it needs a level floor, good access for delivery, and a mains power connection.
