Why this drop-in display fridge earns its place
The TEFCOLD CW2 is a compact drop-in buffet display built for self-service presentation. Stainless steel inside and out, it sits on a counter or buffet run and keeps chilled food on show while holding it at a safe serving temperature, so guests can help themselves without the food warming through service.
Day to day, the CW2 runs a +2 to +8 °C band on static cooling with automatic defrost, managed by an electronic controller that takes the guesswork out of holding temperature. It measures 42 dB in use, so it stays quiet enough for a front-of-house buffet, and draws 122 W. On its rated consumption of 1,051.2 kWh a year, that works out at about £263 a year at 25p/kWh.
The cabinet measures 768 × 678 × 536 mm (W×D×H) externally and weighs 44 kg net, 49 kg as delivered in packing of 820 × 730 × 680 mm. It plugs into a standard 220-240 V 13-amp socket and uses R600a refrigerant with a 70 g charge, so no special electrical supply is needed beyond a dedicated socket within reach of where it stands.
