Why this salad bar earns its place
The CW627 is a drop-in chilled serve-over from CED's Kubus range, built to be recessed into a bespoke deli or servery counter so the display does the selling. It presents chilled deli and prepared lines — cooked meats, cheeses, charcuterie, pies and salads — at the customer face of the counter, served by staff from the rear. At 1525 mm wide and only 540 mm tall, it creates a long, low display that lets customers see right across the deli without obscuring sightlines, while the display sits comfortably at counter height. Because it drops into a counter build rather than standing alone, it's specified into fitted deli, food-hall and servery counters rather than bought as a freestanding cabinet.
In service it works as a traditional serve-over held at −1 to +5°C: stock stays on chilled display facing the customer while staff assemble and hand over orders from behind. The unit uses fan-assisted R290 refrigerant cooling and runs at 63.8 dB(A) — quiet enough for front-of-house service. It holds 4 gastronorm (1/1) containers, so a single unit carries significant depth of range.
As a drop-in unit it is built to sit into a counter aperture, so the joinery and services need designing around it ahead of install. The external dimensions are 1525 mm wide × 540 mm tall × 784 mm deep, and it weighs 161 kg gross. These figures are critical for counter planning and delivery access — worth confirming the counter opening, support structure and electrical supply against your design before you commit.
