Why this display freezer earns its place
The GC889 is a countertop display freezer from Polar's G-Series, made to put frozen stock on show at the point of sale rather than tuck it away in a back-room freezer. It sits on a counter or back-bar top and merchandises frozen impulse lines — ice cream tubs, frozen snacks and grab-and-go desserts — at eye level where customers are already paying. The cabinet measures 705 × 620 × 575 mm and holds 90 litres across three shelves, sized to stock impulse lines without taking up the footprint a full-height freezer would need.
Day to day it runs as a frozen display holding stock between −18 and −13 °C: product stays visible through the glazed door with internal LED lighting to maximise the merchandising effect, and the cabinet holds it at temperature through service. The GC889 runs on a standard 230 V supply at 230 W and uses R290 refrigerant, with an annual energy consumption of 1697 kWh.
Being a countertop unit, it needs a solid, level surface near a socket, with clearance around the cabinet so it can shed heat properly. The exact weight is 47.5 kg, which matters for counter strength — check your counter can take the load and the space around it has enough airflow before it arrives. The cabinet is built from painted steel and glass in silver, and Craven Cooling backs every G-Series unit with a 2-year warranty and its own aftersales and servicing team.
