Why this impulse cooler/freezer earns its place
The Combisteel Cooling/Freezing Island Switchable 2.0 is a floor-standing impulse island for the middle of a retail floor, 2.13 m wide and 1.04 m deep, designed to be approached from all sides as shoppers browse. Its defining feature is that it switches between chilled (0 to +6 °C) and frozen operation, so the same cabinet can present chilled impulse lines at one point in the year and frozen lines at another. This flexibility lets you run a single unit through the full calendar rather than rotating cabinets in and out.
Setting the island to cool or to freeze lets you flex the display to what is selling — chilled products through the warmer months, frozen lines when demand shifts. The 320-litre capacity means you can stock a substantial range either way. When you change mode, allow time for the cabinet to reach the new temperature before restocking. The island is ventilated with automatic defrost, so it cycles actively when switched.
As a floor-standing island it needs clear space on the display floor and airflow around it for the refrigeration system to shed heat. At 250 kg, it is a substantial unit, so plan the delivery route, floor handling and final position in advance. Check the external dimensions (spec table) against your floor plan and doorways, and confirm the electrical requirement before ordering.
