Why this mobile ice cream freezer earns its place
The Elcold Mobilux 11 Combi is a mobile freezer/chiller designed to be moved between locations rather than plumbed into one spot. With 117 litres of net capacity (144 litres gross) behind a manually defrosted lid, it suits pop-up trading, events and seasonal pitches where you need cold storage that travels. The white exterior wipes clean and the hammered-aluminium interior stands up to repeated loading.
It uses static cooling and manual defrost, so you control the defrost cycle around your trading pattern rather than the cabinet interrupting itself. A mechanical controller sets the temperature. It carries climate class 4, meaning it is rated to keep working in warm ambient conditions — useful at an outdoor pitch or a busy event floor in summer. Energy use is 857.8 kWh a year, about £214 a year at 25p/kWh.
The cabinet measures 724 × 654 × 916 mm externally, low enough to sit under a counter or on a stand and narrow enough to pass through most doorways; packed, it ships at 765 × 760 × 940 mm. It draws from a 12-amp supply and uses R290 refrigerant with a 71 g charge, a hydrocarbon with low global warming potential. At 55 kg net (62 kg gross) it is a manageable two-person lift into a vehicle.
