THE WORKING VIEW

Why this mobile ice cream freezer earns its place

The RHODOS is the ice cream trader's freedom. At 2.1 metres tall and wheeled, it commands attention on any high street, park or seaside pitch — the height puts your flavour range at eye level, the cart means you're not chained to a till point. The 45-litre capacity (nine 5-litre tubs) is the working sweet spot: enough stock to turn an afternoon session into profit, light enough to push without a forklift, small enough to fit through a standard door if you need to park it indoors overnight.

Sitting at −15 to −22°C, the freezer keeps ice cream at perfect scoopable hardness — cold enough to hold shape through a busy service, warm enough that you're not chipping frozen blocks. The 3.7 kW draw is modest; most pitches have a simple 16-amp hook-up. At 99 kg empty it rolls on standard catering cart wheels, so pushing it to the pitch is a one-person job. The height is intentional: ice cream at eye level stops the wanderers and turns them into buyers.

BEFORE YOU BUY

Questions, answered straight

A: At 3.7 kW it needs a 16-amp circuit. Most catering pitches have this as standard. Confirm your power supply before placement.

A: The insulation is good but not indefinite. In a warm day (20°C+) you'll hold −15°C for roughly 2–3 hours once fully frozen. Don't rely on it as backup; keep the power live.

A: Ice cream at −22°C is hard but scoop-able with a warm scoop and a quick dip in hot water between each scoop. The range lets you dial in the hardness you prefer.

A: Like all commercial freezers, it benefits from annual deep-clean and a seasonal check of the door seal. Our engineers on 01792 732702 can advise a local service schedule.

A: Confirm locking options when you order. Most mobile units have wheel locks to prevent wandering, and a latch on the lid. Ask our team on 01792

A: The RHODOS is designed for mobile trading, so it's weathered. That said, a pop-up canopy is the pro move — keeps the sun off (which stresses the freezer) and the rain off you.
