Why this sliding lid ice cream freezer earns its place
The TEFCOLD NIC401SCEB is a chest freezer with a curved glass sliding lid, sized to merchandise a solid run of frozen stock at a shop aisle or serve point. The clear lid makes it a display cabinet as much as a freezer, so ice cream, frozen impulse lines and grab-and-go stock stay in view before a customer opens it. The exterior is white with a white painted steel interior, a clean finish that reads well on a retail floor.
It holds a -24 to -14 °C band cold enough to keep ice cream and frozen goods hard, with manual defrost and a mechanical controller — you set the dial and clear the frost down by hand periodically. It is rated to climate class 5 for warm ambient conditions, and at 45 dB it runs quietly enough to sit close to customers without intruding on the space.
It offers 298 litres net (388 litres gross), so it carries a proper working run of frozen stock rather than a token display. It plugs into a standard 13-amp socket, so no special wiring is needed. Cooling uses R290 refrigerant with a 105 g charge, a low-GWP hydrocarbon. On energy it is class D with an energy efficiency index of 47.1%, working out at about £207 a year in electricity at 25p/kWh. Confirm the internal and packed dimensions on the spec sheet against your floor space before delivery.
