Why this sliding lid ice cream freezer earns its place
The TEFCOLD IC502SCEB is a white glass-lidded chest display freezer built to hold and merchandise frozen lines where customers can see the stock. With 427 litres gross and 398 litres net, it suits ice cream tubs, frozen impulse lines and bulk frozen product on a shop floor rather than tucked away in a back store.
It holds a frozen band of -24 to -14 °C under a mechanical controller, with manual defrost, and runs quietly at 45 dB — low enough for a customer-facing space. It is rated energy class D and draws 957 kWh a year, which works out at about £239 a year at 25p/kWh, and its climate class 5 rating covers warm ambient conditions.
Cooling is by R290 hydrocarbon refrigerant with a 110 g charge, and the interior is white painted steel. The cabinet takes a standard 13-amp supply, so no special electrics are needed. It has an internal capacity envelope of 1420 × 495 × 710 mm (W×D×H) and a gross weight of 85 kg — check delivery access and the intended pitch before install; full external dimensions are on the spec table.
