Why this food to go earns its place
The FA947 is the lid element of the 900 ml single-compartment format in Lockhart's Food To Go range, moulded in PET and packed 300 to a case. Undivided at 900 ml, it covers one-pot food — curry, chilli, stew, pasta, a thick soup — where nothing needs keeping apart and the whole portion sits as one fill. That makes it the fastest pack on a busy pass: no aligning a divider, lid on, out.
The demanding part is the wet heat. A 900 ml portion of something sauced puts a lot of steam under a lid for the length of a delivery, and a lid that softens or lifts at a corner sends the condensation into the bag instead of back into the food. PET is the standard here because it holds its rim over a hot fill and stays clear enough for staff to read a pack without opening it. It is rated for all hot foods, dry and wet alike, and it is microwavable, so a portion can be reheated where it lands rather than tipped into something else first. At 300 to a case it is a volume line for kitchens sending hot packs out every service.
