Why this food to go earns its place
The FA946 is the base of a one-pot hot meal pack: a single undivided 900 ml PP moulding, packed 300 to a case, part of Lockhart's Food To Go range. 900 ml undivided is a main-course volume for food that arrives already mixed — curry, chilli, stew, pasta, a thick soup — and the absence of a divider is the point. On a pass running flat out, one compartment fills in a single motion from the pot, and there is nothing to line up before the pack closes.
Polypropylene is what makes it a hot container rather than a cold one. It holds its shape under a fill straight off the heat, where a lighter grade goes soft at the base and flexes the moment someone lifts the pack one-handed with 900 ml of liquid in it. It is rated for all hot foods, dry and wet alike, and it is microwavable, so a portion reheats in the same container it was filled into rather than being tipped out, plated and sent round again. At 300 to a case it is priced and packed for the kitchen where hot packs leave every service — delivery, a food-to-go counter, meal rounds — not for occasional use.
