THE WORKING VIEW

Why this product earns its place

A stainless bucket is the kitchen's general carrier, the thing that moves what a lidded container will not. Ice from the machine to the bar, stock out of a pot and into the chiller, peelings away from a prep bench, water to a floor that needs doing at the end of the night. At 12 litres it holds a genuinely useful amount in one trip without becoming a two-person lift, which is the size most kitchens settle on for everyday carrying.

Stainless is why a bucket like this stays in service for years. It takes hot liquid straight out of a pot without softening or crazing the way a plastic pail does, it does not hold the smell of the last job, and it will not stain from brine, tomato or turmeric. It also reads correctly on a busy floor: colour-coded plastic belongs to the cleaning regime, and a plain stainless bucket is understood to be food-side kit. Filled to the brim, 12 litres is a two-handed carry, so most brigades run it two-thirds full when the contents are hot.

BEFORE YOU BUY

Questions, answered straight

It is a 12 litre bucket. That is enough for a batch of stock, an ice run to the bar, or the trim off a full prep bench.

Stainless steel. In a kitchen that matters for three reasons: it does not stain, it does not retain odours, and it takes hot contents without deforming.

Keep it food-side. Most kitchens run colour-coded plastic buckets for chemicals and mopping, and reserve stainless for food handling so the two regimes never cross.

Twelve litres filled to the top is a two-handed lift. When the contents are hot, fill to around two-thirds — it is easier to control and there is less to displace if it knocks a bench on the way.

Wash it with your standard kitchen detergent and a non-abrasive pad, then dry it. Drying rather than air-standing is what keeps a stainless finish bright and free of water marks.
