Why this plate cover earns its place
The APS SAN Plate Cover 240mm is built for smaller plates. At 240 × 240 × 75mm, it covers dessert plates, starter plates, or any smaller plated item you want to protect and keep warm during service or holding. The extra height (75mm vs the standard 65mm) means it has a deeper dome, useful if you're plating upright presentations that need headroom underneath the cover.
The material is SAN (Styrene Acrylonitrile)—the standard for food covers because it's food-safe, transparent, durable and doesn't absorb flavours or odours. At 0.25 kg, it's light and easy to handle constantly. Like larger covers, it does two jobs: it traps steam to keep food warm, and it protects finished plates from dust and accidental contact while they wait between plating and service.
In a fine-dining or multi-course service, you'll rotate plates through courses—and each course might be a different size. The 240mm cover is the industry-standard size for anything smaller than a main-course plate. If your kitchen runs multiple plate formats, having a range of covers (240mm for starter and dessert courses, larger sizes for mains) is standard practice.
