THE WORKING VIEW

Why this pizza trays & accessorie earns its place

This Combisteel pizza shovel does one job with precision: extracting hot pizzas from a compact deck oven. The 300 × 360 mm rectangular face is dimensioned for ovens holding a maximum of two pizzas across the width — a standard commercial pizza oven footprint. The perforated design (small drainage holes punched through the face) is the working advantage: as you slide a finished pizza onto the shovel, oil, water vapour and any flour dust drain straight through rather than pooling on the surface. That keeps your pizzas crisp on the underside and your shovel cleaner between service.

Stainless steel throughout means it resists corrosion and handles repeated high-heat cycles without warping. The durability matters on a busy pizza line — you'll use this tool dozens of times a service, flipping and extracting in rapid succession. Weight and balance are minimal, so even at the end of a long shift your wrist doesn't tire.

The perforated face is subtly different from a solid shovel. In a high-volume setup, those drainage holes pay for themselves: less sticking, less soggy bottoms, less time spent scraping the surface between takes. For operators running a defined pizza menu (rather than bake-to-order), the perforated option shortens the learning curve on moisture management.

BEFORE YOU BUY

Questions, answered straight

Perforated shovels have drainage holes that let oil and moisture drain away as you extract the pizza, keeping the base crisp. Solid shovels are traditional and work just as well; the choice depends on your workflow and how you manage moisture. Perforated is gentler on the pizza if you're learning.

This shovel is designed for ovens that hold a maximum of two pizzas in a row. Measure your oven's internal width — if it's around 600–700 mm, two pizzas fit side by side, and this is your size. If your oven is wider (three+ pizzas) or smaller (single pizza), you'll need a different dimension.

Yes — have at least two. One goes into the oven to slide under the pizza; the other waits at your station to cool or be cleaned. Swapping them keeps your service flowing without delay.

Stainless steel, so it won't rust, pit, or warp under repeated heat and moisture exposure. Wipe it clean after service; no seasoning or special care needed.

Wipe clean with a damp cloth after use. For heavier buildup, warm soapy water and a soft brush. Avoid abrasive scouring pads that can scratch the finish. Dry before storage.
