Why this wine glasse earns its place
This is the 450 ml sibling of the Grandioso 370 ml white wine glass—same Italian crystal engineering, same titanium-reinforced stem, same commitment to surviving a real commercial kitchen. The difference is capacity: at 450 ml instead of 370 ml, this is the glass for houses that pour a more generous white wine pour, or for diners who expect a larger serve. The extra 80 ml doesn't sound like much until you're managing a busy service and the consistency of the pour matters more than the metric.
At 215 mm tall (just 5 mm taller than the 370 ml), the proportions stay elegant—the bowl diameter is slightly wider (80.8 mm instead of 75 mm) to accommodate the larger volume without looking oversized or clumsy. The wide base means the wine has genuine contact with glass; air circulation that lets white wine show its character. The sinuous bowl shape and ultra-thin laser-cut rim are identical to the smaller version—these are the design decisions that came from centuries of Italian wine service.
The lead-free SON.hyx crystal is the real material: clarity, weight, and the kind of transparency that stays clear through years of high-temperature washing. The patented titanium-reinforcement in the stem is the engineering that actually matters—stems that don't fracture under thermal stress, that survive stacking in the dishwasher, that don't turn into breakage attrition over time. Luigi Bormioli tested these through 4,000+ wash cycles and maintained transparency and sparkle.
