Why this wine glasse earns its place
The Vina goblet is designed specifically for white wines — the bowl shape is more upright than a red wine glass, which concentrates aromas and keeps the wine slightly cooler as you drink it. At 279ml, there's room for a full white wine pour (around 125–150ml) plus space to swirl and smell the wine before tasting.
The goblet shape has a long history in formal dining: it's elegant, stable on the table, and functional. Schott Zwiesel's version is tested by serious wine people — Concours Mondial and the German Wine Institute use these for their tasting programmes. The crystal clarity means the wine's colour (pale gold, bright white, straw yellow) is part of the presentation.
A goblet with a stem is also easier to hold without warming the wine with your hand — the stem keeps your fingers away from the bowl. That matters more with white wine, which shows temperature changes quickly. These belong in fine dining restaurants, upmarket banqueting, catering hire — anywhere white wine service is part of the story.
