Why this wine glasse earns its place
The Chef & Sommelier Open Up Soft line recognises what any decent wine list does: not every wine is built for power, and not every glass needs to be chasing tannins. This is the glass for wines that lead with finesse—whites, rosés, lighter reds, skin-contact wines, even delicate sparkling wines served by the glass.
The angled bowl works the same way as its Tannic sibling, but at 470ml, the proportions are calibrated for wines that need gentler treatment. There's enough surface area for the wine to breathe and develop complexity, but not so much that a delicate pour looks thin or lonely in the glass. The design allows acidity to soften naturally over a few minutes, revealing the real character of the wine rather than masking it.
This matters because softer wines are often underestimated in casual service. Pour an elegant albariño or a silky pinot noir into the wrong glass and it disappears. Pour it into this and suddenly the wine has room to unfold. It's the difference between a wine that just tastes light and one that tastes refined.
