Why this plate earns its place
The 165 mm plate is the classic side plate size — bread and butter at breakfast, side veg at lunch, palate cleanser in multi-course fine dining. At this diameter, it reads as nimble without looking meagre, and it stacks tightly enough that a single cupboard shelf holds several packs without wasting space.
The crackled design is applied under a protective glaze, so the pattern sits as an intentional accent rather than a sign of wear. The decorated underglaze seals the ceramic surface, creating a harder, more durable finish than standard pottery glazes. Super vitrified ceramic is the industry standard because it is fired at higher temperature, making it less porous and far more resistant to the impact chipping and thermal shock that marks budget ceramics worn out after 6–12 months of service.
At 0.294 kg per plate, the weight is slight but purposeful — enough to feel sturdy in hand without adding bulk to the dishwasher load. The 12-pack unit is standard stock for restaurants and hotels rotating side plates through multiple covers per service.
