Why this plate earns its place
A side plate at 160 mm does two jobs in a working kitchen: bread and butter service, and a platform for small appetizers or garnish. The wide rim is visual breathing room on the table and protection against chipping at the edges — where plates take their worst damage in a service.
Vitrified porcelain is the working standard because it hardens through the kiln so densely that it resists the small fractures that would crack earthenware or bone china. These plates are dishwasher and freezer safe, which means they survive bulk washing without degrading and can be pre-chilled before service if plating hot foods.
