Why this platter earns its place
The rectangular form at 298 × 153 mm works for individual plated dishes, small shared portions, or antipasti service. The kintsugi-inspired crackled glaze is a contemporary take on the Japanese repair aesthetic — fine crackle pattern across black ceramic creates visual depth and texture without standing proud of the surface. The decorated underglaze sits underneath the glaze layer, adding a protective barrier that resists chipping and wear during service and washing.
Super vitrified ceramic is engineered a step above standard vitrified ware: denser, less porous, and more resilient to thermal shock and mechanical stress. Black is a strong visual anchor on a formal table setting and photographs distinctly. The rectangular format suits sharing menus and tapas-style service — the length presents antipasti, charcuterie, or composed vegetables without crowding individual items together, and the narrower width means platters still stack efficiently in confined kitchen space.
At 0.566 kg per platter, weight is present but not cumbersome. The shape lends itself to both individual oven-to-table use (warm a platter, plate and serve straight to the table) and shared presentation. The platter can move directly from a 200 °C oven to the table without worry, making it practical for venues mixing hot food and table presentation in one step.
