Why this platter earns its place

Melamine platters are the workload solution for high-turnover venues. A 27 cm platter is the standard size for a two-person share or a charcuterie selection—large enough to present height and composition, small enough to fit easily on a table or within a plating pass. Melamine solves the platter problem by eliminating the fragility and replacement cost of ceramics while keeping the visual weight light on the table.

The sand glaze provides a neutral frame that lifts the food—cured meats, cheeses, and garnishes read more clearly against this finish than against high-gloss surfaces. Melamine resists chipping at the rim (where ceramic platters chip predictably) and survives passthrough dishwashing without any degradation, so a single platter can move from table to kitchen and back in full service rotation.

Questions, answered straight

27 cm is the standard for a two-person share platter or a four-person half-board. For larger groups or full-table sharing, the 33 cm platter (DO707) offers 30% more surface area.

Melamine supports food up to 80 °C. It's suitable for warm salads, sautéed greens, or composed plates with a hot component. For raw or room-temperature presentation (charcuterie, cheese, salads), temperature is not a constraint.

The textured glaze is naturally water-beading and resists oil spotting better than gloss. Minor oil marks may appear temporarily but wash off completely in the dishwasher. Turmeric or beetroot can stain melamine over repeated exposure.

Yes. Melamine platters nest efficiently. You can stack 8–10 platters per 30 cm shelf-width. Unlike ceramics, there is no chip risk with nesting.

It is not recommended to cut on melamine surfaces. Knife marks can accumulate. Use melamine as a serving piece, not a cutting board.

In a high-volume venue (50+ charcuterie boards daily), plan to refresh platters every 18–24 months. The glaze may dull slightly, but the platter remains fully functional.
