The super-vitrified ceramic body is rated for heavy duty. Stacks tight because the walled rim locates cleanly — you get more covers in a tighter racking footprint. Each plate is spun, so the glaze pattern carries a slight variation piece to piece. The glaze itself sits on a high-fire base, giving the applied decoration a protective layer that stands repeated high-temperature wash cycles without crazing.
