Bare shell to
beer cave.
A Premier store on one of Cardiff’s busiest streets, stripped back to nothing and rebuilt — with thirteen new cabinets, a walk-in beer cave, and every delivery choreographed to the minute.
The job
Premier Shopright, 28–30 City Road — a full refurbishment with the store stripped back to a bare shell. Old refrigeration, shelving, flooring and ceiling all out before the new shop could go in. Craven Cooling was brought in to run the complete refrigeration side.
A busy part of Cardiff, a customer who needed the doors back open fast, and a programme shared with shopfitters, transport companies and every other trade on site.
Before / after
From the old shop front to a modern Premier store. Drag the line.

The challenge
City Road is one of Cardiff’s busiest, most densely populated streets. Constant pedestrians, next to no space for deliveries — and no room in the programme for anything arriving out of order.
Strip-out at pace
Day one: existing refrigeration decommissioned, removed and readied for disposal — on the same day the first new cabinets began arriving.
A street with no slack
Limited access, constant footfall, nowhere to leave kit. Early-morning deliveries, a temporary unloading area, and the team managing pedestrians and traffic while cabinets came off the lorries.
Every stage in order
Several trades on the same tight programme. Pipework and condensing units prepared before the cabinets were placed, so the installation moved without waiting on anyone.
The beer cave
A dedicated walk-in cold room for drinks — a shop within the shop, with its own entrance, its own climate and a ceiling that thinks it’s the sky.

Five Tefcold LGF7500 freezers, seven Arneg multidecks and a Tefcold LPD900F — pipework and condensing units prepared in advance, so the final installation kept pace with the customer’s reopening date.
The kit
A complete refrigeration package for a full-range convenience store.

Due to the scale and the deadline, the full Craven Cooling team attended site — so different parts of the installation happened at the same time.Premier Shopright · 28–30 City Road, Cardiff
