The DC SG50 IS D is the complete glasswasher for high-volume venues in hard-water areas with flexible plumbing requirements. It's the SG45 scaled up and fully specified: bigger basket (500×500), integral water softener, drain pump. If you need volume, spotless glassware, and installation freedom, this is the machine.
The 500 basket holds 60–70 glasses per cycle—a 25–30% capacity jump over the SG45. For a busy hotel, cocktail bar, or function venue running sustained service, that means fewer cycles per hour and more time between basket reloads. Two baskets come standard, so you operate continuously: one cycles while you load the next. The peristaltic auto-dosing system scales to the load size, delivering detergent and rinse aid precisely regardless of basket fullness.
The integral water softener removes the hard-water problem completely. In the UK Midlands, South East, or anywhere limestone-rich, hard water creates spotting, streaking, and dull glassware that costs money in extra chemicals and damages reputation. The softener strips hardness at source—calcium and magnesium ions swap for sodium, so rinse water is genuinely soft. Resin regenerates automatically during the wash cycle; salt is topped up monthly (cost: a few quid). The result: glassware that actually sparkles, lower chemical spend, and lower rinsing time. Soft water also means the peristaltic system's dosing works perfectly—no fighting water chemistry.
