Why this commercial dishwasher earns its place
The SD1000A D is a standard passthrough dishwasher sized around 500×500 baskets, configured for installations where you need dependable pump-assisted drainage. In a typical kitchen layout, gravity feed is the preference — the machine sits high, the drain runs downhill, and gravity does the work for free. But in tight spaces, basement kitchens, or layouts where the machine sits level with or below the drain point, the active drain pump becomes essential. That's where this variant earns its place.
The drain pump is fitted as standard, which means you can specify this machine in locations where a gravity-feed dishwasher wouldn't work. No jerry-rigged standpipe, no water pooling under the machine, no compromise on placement. It also removes the constraint of having to pitch the drain line — a real space-saver in galley kitchens or compact prep areas where every angle is tight.
The thermal break tank still handles the pressure side, keeping pipe shock to a minimum and managing mains pressure swings. The integral water softener isn't fitted on this variant, which makes it a good choice for sites with naturally soft water or where the investment in built-in softening isn't justified yet. Chemical dosing is still integral and adjustable from the control panel — you're not paying for water softening you don't need.
