Why this chemical earns its place
Diversey's SURE SmartDose washroom cleaner is made from the same renewable plant-based ingredients as the rest of the SmartDose range – sugar beet, maize, straw bran, wheat bran and coconut – and is fully biodegradable. It's free from artificial dyes, perfumes, quats, phosphates, chlorine and oxide compounds, giving washrooms a genuinely gentler chemical footprint without giving up on cleaning power.
It's built for all water-resistant hard surfaces in the washroom, cutting through dirt, grime and general soiling with just a one-minute contact time – quick enough to fit into a normal cleaning round rather than requiring surfaces to be left standing. Dilution runs at 1:77 for trigger spray bottles and 1:100 for mop buckets, so the same concentrate covers both spray-and-wipe and mop-based cleaning.
The SmartDose bottle format makes dosing consistent every time rather than relying on guesswork with a measuring cup, and it can be paired with the matching FA400 refill bottles for ongoing use. One 1.4-litre bottle is concentrated enough to fill around 140 spray bottles or 70 mop buckets, which is a lot of washroom cleaning from a small container.
COSHH: six habits of safe chemical use
Control of Substances Hazardous to Health — the routine every commercial kitchen and cleaning cupboard is expected to run.

SDS
Read the label and the manufacturer’s safety data sheet — the pictograms tell you what you are holding.

Who could be harmed, and how badly? Judge likelihood against severity before anyone opens the cap.

Eliminate or substitute first, engineer and organise next — PPE is the last line, never the first.

Keep the controls working: check ventilation, dosing equipment and storage stay as they should be.

Everyone who uses it knows the hazards, the correct dilution and the PPE — before the first shift, not after.

Products and processes change. Reassess when they do, and keep the record that proves it.
