THE WORKING VIEW

Why this one earns its place

Suma Max D9.2 targets the same heavy, carbonised soiling as a specialist oven and grill cleaner, but it’s formulated to be used daily rather than kept for occasional deep-cleans. The blend of alkali, surfactants and solvents breaks down stubborn carbonised residue on ovens, grills and salamanders, and Diversey notes it delivers its best results specifically with regular, daily application rather than as a one-off strip.

It’s applied through a foam sprayer with an extension, which reaches into the back and roof of an oven or under a grill and cuts down on the mist a straight spray produces in an enclosed space. Diluted with water, the same product is also suitable for soak-cleaning fryers, so it covers oven, grill, salamander and fryer cleaning without switching bottles.

Where it stands apart from a heavier alkaline cleaner like Suma Grill D9 is the safety profile: Suma Max D9.2 is rated non-corrosive, non-irritant and non-flammable, which makes it a more practical choice for a product that’s going to be handled by kitchen staff every day rather than reserved for occasional deep-cleans by a trained cleaning contractor.

Because it’s built around daily application rather than a one-off strip, it’s worth building into a standing cleaning rota rather than reaching for it only once carbonised soil has already taken hold. Kept up as routine maintenance, the same alkali, surfactant and solvent blend prevents the kind of build-up that would otherwise need a harsher periodic deep-clean product to shift.

Supplied as an unperfumed purple foam in 750ml bottles, six to a pack, it’s built to fit into a daily cleaning routine on heavy-duty cooking equipment without the handling precautions a corrosive product demands.
