Why this one earns its place
This Jantex Green floor gel cleaner is a plant-based, biodegradable concentrate built around a non-abrasive formula, so it gently cleans without stripping the finish off polished floors — a real concern with harsher floor cleaners that dull polish over repeated use.
It clears grease and oil in as little as 30 seconds, and being low-foaming, it’s suitable for use with floor scrubbing machines where excess foam would otherwise interfere with the equipment. It’s safe across most hard floor surfaces including linoleum, PVC, sealed wood and cork, giving it reach across the different flooring types found in one building.
It flexes across three dilution ratios depending on how dirty the floor is: 1:10 for heavy soiling, 1:30 for general cleaning, and 1:50 for light soiling — so the same concentrate scales up or down rather than needing a different product for a lighter maintenance clean versus a heavier job. Like the rest of the Green range it’s non-toxic, non-flammable, non-carcinogenic and complies with EC Detergent Regulation 648/2004 and REACH 1907/2006.
Supplied in a 5 litre concentrate with a bottle made from 40% recycled plastic, it suits sites with a mix of hard flooring types wanting one gel cleaner that scales from light daily cleaning through to heavier soiling without stripping polish along the way.

COSHH: six habits of safe chemical use
Control of Substances Hazardous to Health — the routine every commercial kitchen and cleaning cupboard is expected to run.

SDS
Read the label and the manufacturer’s safety data sheet — the pictograms tell you what you are holding.

Who could be harmed, and how badly? Judge likelihood against severity before anyone opens the cap.

Eliminate or substitute first, engineer and organise next — PPE is the last line, never the first.

Keep the controls working: check ventilation, dosing equipment and storage stay as they should be.

MIX 1:50
Everyone who uses it knows the hazards, the correct dilution and the PPE — before the first shift, not after.

Products and processes change. Reassess when they do, and keep the record that proves it.
Guidance summary only — the product label, the current safety data sheet and your own COSHH assessment remain the authority.
