The DCT85-20A is the entry point to DC's self-contained pebble ice range — a single-box machine that makes, stores and dispenses ice from one footprint. At 20 kg/24 hrs production and 4 kg of storage, it's sized for the back bar that needs nugget ice on demand but doesn't have the space or volume to justify a modular head-and-bin setup.
Pebble ice (sometimes called nugget or chewable ice) is the go-to for highballs, mojitos, frozen cocktails and premium soft-serve drinks. The small, porous nuggets chill liquid fast because of their high surface area, yet they're slow to melt in the glass — so the drink stays cold without the watery finish you get from crushed ice. It's also the ice of choice for healthcare hydration and display cabinets where product sit time matters.
Because it's self-contained, installation is straightforward: a 13 A plug (check your specific unit's rating plate), a ¾" BSP mains water connection, and a gravity drain. No separate bin to site, no inter-connecting pipe run between head and bin, no extra floor footprint. The 4 kg bin holds roughly 150–200 nuggets — enough for a steady cocktail service through a shift, with the machine topping up in the background.
