Why this food warming drawer earns its place
The Hatco HDW-3N narrow warming drawers solve a specific problem: how to hold foods that collapse, crumble, or dry out if you stack them. Bacon, sausage rolls, pastries, baked goods, and any delicate prepared dish have their own safe space here. Three separate drawers, each with its own temperature control and adjustable sliding vents, mean you can customise the holding environment for what's in each drawer. One drawer might hold rolls at 70°C (warm, not drying), another keeps sausages at 85°C, the third rests pastries at 60°C—all independently managed. A food pan slides into each drawer, and a temperature monitor on the front of each drawer tells you the actual heat at any moment. There's an On/Off switch dedicated to each drawer, so you can power down one while the others keep working.
The 896 mm width fits neatly into pass-side cabinetry, and the 530 mm depth—narrow by design—doesn't demand huge kitchen real estate. At 105.45 kg, it's a substantial unit but freestanding, which means no installation work and you can reposition it if kitchen layouts change. The stainless steel exterior handles daily commercial use, and the internal shelves and food pans are designed for easy access and cleaning. This is the sort of equipment that works best in a catering kitchen where you're managing multiple holding temperatures and need individual drawer control—a hotel breakfast service, a banqueting kitchen staging cold appetisers and hot rolls, a wedding catering operation warming bread and held plates before plating.
At 240V single-phase with 1,350W total capacity, the HDW-3N draws reasonable power for what it does. It's built to run all day during service—the thermostatic vents on each drawer automatically manage airflow and moisture, so you don't have to baby it. Two years parts and labour warranty covers the heating elements, controls, and the cabinet itself.
