Why this heated display earns its place
The CED Kubus assisted-service display is engineered for bakery and deli counter service where staff reach in to pull and pack items for customers. The main well holds four full-size Gastronorm containers on an inclined stainless-steel surface — angled to give customers a clear line of sight and staff an ergonomic reach. Above that, at eye level, sits a second adjustable heated shelf with its own temperature control, doubling your display and hot-hold footprint in a footprint that fits a standard countertop cutout.
The design is purpose-built for pastry work. The inclined well surface sheds crumbs and moisture; the steel — rather than glass — is chosen because it's easier to clean when working with laminated pastries, custards and sticky products. The full-height front and side glass panels tilt forward on a locking hinge, which sounds simple but is essential: you can drop the glass completely and access every corner of the well from the operator side without reaching across hot food or contorting your arm. During quiet periods, the glass tilts back and locks, keeping the display closed and food protected.
Both the well and the midshelf have independent digital temperature control and dimmer switches for the infrared heat lamps, mounted at eye level on the operator side. The display is factory-set to 85°C for food-safety compliance and can be adjusted for different product lines. At 3.8kW, it's a substantial piece of equipment designed to run hard — 24-hour operation, modular heater-mat elements under both surfaces for even heat, and enough power to hold temperature even during busy service when you're pulling and replacing items constantly.
