Why this wall shelve earns its place
Every commercial kitchen runs short of worktop before it runs short of things to put on it, and a microwave sat on a prep surface is one of the most common space thieves in the building. The KWC DVS wall shelf solves that by taking the load off the counter and putting it on the wall instead. At 1200mm wide and 300mm deep, it's sized to take a standard commercial microwave with room either side for pots, pans or anything else that needs to sit off the floor and off the worktop.
It's built from 1.2mm thick grade 304 stainless steel — the same grade running through the rest of a stainless kitchen fit-out, so it sits into an existing run without looking like an afterthought. Triangular wall brackets carry the load, and two fixing holes give a solid connection into the wall structure itself rather than relying on the shelf alone. Depending on the wall and what's going on top, the shelf can be supported from underneath or simply hung from the brackets — both are catered for.
Behind the shelf there's a 20mm gap for routing cables, which matters more than it sounds when the thing sitting on top is a microwave that needs to reach a socket without a trailing lead across the splashback. Fixing instructions are included along with two nuts and bolts; screws and plugs aren't supplied, since wall types vary enough that a generic fixing kit would be the wrong call for half the kitchens it goes into.
