Why this ducting earns its place
The 300 mm square section sits in the middle ground of commercial extraction — larger than 150 mm for modest single-point extraction, but more manageable than 400 mm when space is tight or when you're running multiple smaller extraction zones. It's sized for a medium hood over a cooking station, multiple prep points, a dishwash area, or the main trunk in a multi-zone extraction system where different areas branch off from one larger duct.
Aluminium construction keeps it light (2 kg per section) while offering genuine durability. In a commercial kitchen where humidity, grease aerosol, and thermal cycling are constant, aluminium won't rust or corrode the way mild steel would. The square profile is efficient against walls and ceilings — neater and more space-conscious than round ducting, and it bolts cleanly to dampers, transitions, and standard extraction components.
At this size, you're handling solid airflow volumes — typically 1,500–4,000 m³/h depending on fan power — without the bulk or expense of 400 mm ducting where it's not needed. The 300 mm section is the sweet spot for many commercial fit-outs: enough capacity for real work, compact enough to route through typical ceilings and plant spaces, and straightforward to install with simple fixings and connections.
