Why this griddle earns its place
The Buffalo extra wide griddle is a workhorse for any kitchen running dual-zone cooking: one end holding an omelette station warm whilst the other sears burgers or pancakes. Its 555×264 mm cast iron plate runs at 3 kW, and the independent temperature controls mean you're not locked to one temperature across the whole surface. Cast iron seasons naturally with use — it develops a non-stick character the first week, and thereafter gets more forgiving. Once hot, it holds heat brilliantly, so plating stays consistent even through rushes.
The plate sits in a stainless steel frame 207 mm high, leaving enough clearance for a flipper or tongs without cramping shoulder room. At 32.3 kg it needs a solid work surface, but that mass is partly why the heat recovery is so quick after you load it. The thermostat is straightforward: set it and trust it. Temperature range is 50°C (low enough to hold cooked breakfast) to 300°C (high enough to sear properly).
Cleaning is a real advantage: cast iron wipes clean with minimal water, and there's no fussy non-stick coating to scratch or fail. A cloth and a little oil between services keeps it in shape. The 2-year parts and labour warranty covers the electric elements and thermostat — the parts that fail on griddles.
