Why this induction hob earns its place
The Falcon One Series E1403i is a compact induction boiling top for kitchens that want efficient, controllable heat in a straightforward format. It has four 180 mm-wide heat zones, sits in a stainless steel body with a silver finish and is listed at 600 mm wide, 785 mm deep and 450 mm high.
Each zone is rated at 1.85 kW, and when more intensity is needed the boost function can take an individual zone up to 3 kW for a short period. The manufacturer also says the hob includes in-built pan detection, so energy is not wasted when a zone is switched on but no pan is present.
The glass top is 6 mm toughened glass, making it robust enough for everyday commercial pan work and easy to wipe clean after service. The unit runs on 400V three-phase power, has a 7.4 kW rated input, carries a 2 year parts and labour warranty and can be mounted on a fixed or mobile stand sold separately.
