Why this freestanding earns its place
This is the single-zone version of the Heat-Max design — one 10-litre round pan with electronic thermostatic control, rather than two. The feature set is identical: you set a temperature and the unit maintains it precisely; a countdown timer can shift the unit from boiling (100°C Heat mode) to holding (40–90°C Hold mode) automatically when your item is ready.
The 10-litre size is right for a single batch of soup or stock across a service — large enough that you're not constantly refilling, but not so large that half a batch sits idle. Electronic control means you're not watching it; the unit handles temperature stability whilst you work on other prep. Temperature display lets you check actual temp at a glance, rather than guessing from a dial.
This unit works for both cooking from cold and holding at temperature. If you're simmering a stock overnight, set it to 60°C and a long timer; it'll hold that heat without simmering aggressively enough to reduce the volume.
