Why this single door upright fridge earns its place
The RK500 is a stainless steel single-door upright fridge built for back-of-house storage in a working kitchen. It gives you 450 litres gross and 429 litres net behind one hinged solid door, with three white wire shelves that take Gastronorm stock and can be moved to suit whatever you are holding. The full stainless interior and exterior wipe down between shifts and stand up to the knocks of a busy service.
Day to day it holds -2 to +8 °C under an electronic controller, so you can run it cold for fresh meat or across the wider chilled band as your stock demands. Defrost is automatic, so there is no manual routine to schedule around, and it is rated climate class 4 for warm back-of-house ambients. At 42 dB it is quiet enough to sit in a prep area, and with an energy class C rating and 408.8 kWh a year it works out at about £102 a year to run at 25p/kWh.
The cabinet measures 680 × 700 × 1900 mm, so at 680 mm wide it passes through a standard single doorway on delivery, with a packed size of 745 × 720 × 2130 mm to plan the route for. It weighs 140 kg packed and 130 kg installed, runs off a standard 13 amp supply at 220-240 V, and uses R600a refrigerant with a 90 g charge.
