Why this upright fridge earns its place
The Polar G590 is a single-door upright fridge from Polar's G-Series line, built for commercial kitchens that open the door dozens of times a shift rather than a handful. It's rated a 440-litre-class cabinet with 321 litres of net storage across three sturdy, adjustable shelves, giving restaurants, cafés, pubs and takeaways enough chilled capacity for daily stock without the footprint of a bigger upright.
It holds a -2°C to +5°C range on R600a refrigerant, drawing 230V, and is rated Energy Class C at 405.2 kWh a year with an EEI of 35.7%. Cooling is fan-assisted with a static backup, which keeps temperature recovery quick after the door's been open, and auto defrost runs in the background so performance doesn't drift between service periods. Polar rates the G-Series to work reliably in ambients up to 32°C, which covers most working kitchens.
The cabinet is stainless steel outside with an aluminium interior, hinged and lockable with a self-closing, reversible door, and the whole thing sits on sturdy lockable castors for easy repositioning. Each of the three shelves is rated to 21kg, and the digital control panel gives a straightforward temperature readout rather than a dial you're guessing against. It weighs 113kg gross and carries a 2-year parts and labour warranty.
