Why this prep counter earns its place
The Polar U-Series UA081 is a double-door pizza prep counter built around a stay-cool granite worktop, sized for pizzerias, bakeries and any high-volume dough station that needs chilled ingredient storage and a serious work surface in one footprint. With 428 litres of case capacity it sits toward the larger end of Polar's granite-top range, engineered to run all day under constant door-opening and heavy dough handling rather than light occasional use.
Inside, forced air cooling keeps both compartments at a steady working temperature even in a hot kitchen — the unit is rated to climate class 5, meaning reliable performance up to 43°C ambient, right next to a pizza oven. Automatic defrost maintains that performance without manual intervention, and Energy Class A puts annual consumption at 562.1 kWh, with an EEI of 22.7% making it one of the more efficient double-door prep counters in the range. Five tray-guide positions run across the two compartments, engineered around standard 600 x 400mm bakery trays rather than fixed shelving, so sheets slide straight in and out mid-bake.
Construction is stainless steel throughout, built to shrug off daily contact with flour, dough and cleaning chemicals, with self-closing hinged doors that cut standby losses and hold the cold air in between openings. A digital temperature display gives an accurate readout at a glance, and the whole counter is backed by 2 years parts and labour warranty. Gross weight comes in at 257kg, so it needs a level, load-rated floor before installation.
