Why this counter fridge earns its place
The Polar G-Series U638 brings flexible chilled storage to a professional kitchen through four sliding drawers, each sized for a full 1/1 gastronorm pan. That's rapid, independent access to four separate stores of ingredients rather than one shared compartment behind a single door — useful anywhere staff need to reach different prepped items without disturbing the rest of the fridge. Each drawer measures 260mm high by 428mm wide by 576mm deep, giving a clear sense of what will fit before it's ordered.
Running temperature is +2°C to +5°C, delivered through combined fan-assisted and static cooling with automatic defrost keeping performance consistent shift after shift. Energy consumption is rated at 883.3 kWh a year at Energy Class C, with an EEI of 43.8%, on a 230V supply drawing 230W. Like the rest of the G-Series range, it's built to hold its temperature reliably in ambient kitchens up to 32°C, so it copes with positioning near ovens or in a warmer back-of-house corner.
Construction is stainless steel exterior and interior, giving a robust, easy-clean finish that copes with the constant opening and closing four drawers see through a busy service. It runs on R600a refrigerant, sits on sturdy adjustable feet for levelling, and is backed by 2 years parts and labour warranty as standard. Digital temperature control keeps the setpoint easy to read and adjust at a glance.
