Why this prep counter earns its place
The Polar G-Series GD876 is a countertop prep fridge — a refrigerated servery topper — for chilled ingredients held in gastronorm pans. Its listed capacity is 5× 1/3 GN plus 1× 1/2 GN: up to six pans, with one larger position for a high-turnover ingredient or sauce alongside five smaller portions. At 1500mm wide, 395mm deep and 435mm tall, it's the mid-length topper in the range, sitting between the compact and the full-line models.
The body is stainless steel and glass with 40mm insulation, so it wipes down easily in a busy prep area and stands up to repeated cleaning. Static cooling holds a listed +2 to +8°C band on an R600a refrigerant (GWP 3), and the G-Series compressor is built to keep that temperature even in a hot kitchen, holding food chilled in ambient conditions up to 32°C. A glass sneeze screen runs over the pans, so it doubles as a front-of-house self-service station while keeping ingredients covered and hygienic.
Use it where the menu needs a compact topping station with one larger pan alongside several smaller portions, rather than a full under-counter cabinet. At 63kg it sits on a solid counter run — plan the position and clearance around it.
