Why this double door counter fridge earns its place
The Blizzard HBC2 is a twin hinged-door refrigerated counter — worktop-height chilled storage built to sit directly in a kitchen line rather than take up a separate cabinet's footprint. It measures 1360 × 700 × 950mm and carries a full-width stainless steel upstand at the back, which stops spills and splashes running behind the counter into the wall or adjacent equipment. At 282 litres gross across two doors, it suits a prep line needing chilled ingredients within arm's reach rather than a walk back to a separate fridge.
Inside, two adjustable shelves give straightforward racking, and an even air distribution system, ducted through the cabinet, keeps temperature consistent across both compartments rather than leaving cold spots near the evaporator and warm spots at the door. Cooling is ventilated rather than static, run through a Dixell digital controller for accurate, repeatable temperature control. On a 13-amp supply, it's rated Energy Class C at 215 kWh a year — a controlled running cost for a twin-door counter doing continuous duty through service.
Build is stainless steel exterior and interior, rated climate class 4 and running at 42dB — quiet enough to sit directly under a prep surface without adding noticeably to kitchen noise. Both doors are self-closing with a dwell position for hands-free loading, fitted with replaceable gaskets so seals can be swapped rather than the whole door replaced as they wear, and the internal corners are rounded for easier cleaning. The refrigerant is R290, and defrost is automatic. It's supplied on lockable heavy-duty castors, and the whole 128kg unit is available with a 2 or 3 drawer option in place of the doors if that suits the kitchen better.
