Why this counter freezer earns its place
The Polar G599 is a double-door counter freezer from Polar's U-Series line, built for kitchens that need frozen storage at worktop height rather than in a separate walk-in. Rated a 282-litre-class cabinet with 187 litres of net frozen storage across two adjustable shelves, it suits smaller kitchens where space is tight but frozen stock still needs to be close to hand.
It holds -20°C to -10°C on R290 refrigerant, drawing 750W from a 230V supply, and is rated Energy Class D at 2190 kWh a year with an EEI of 61%. Cooling is ventilated with forced air, and the interior is 1/1 GN compatible for quick filling and access, with automatic defrost keeping performance consistent between services. Polar builds U-Series units to hold a steady temperature even in ambients up to 43°C — the top of its range, not the entry-level line.
The cabinet is stainless steel inside and out, with a solid, self-closing hinged door and removable door seals that make routine cleaning simple. A front-mounted filter means the condenser can be cleaned without pulling the unit away from the wall. The stainless steel worktop doubles as prep space, or is sturdy enough to carry a bain marie, microwave or ice cream machine. It weighs 98kg gross and carries a 2-year parts and labour warranty.
