Why this upright freezer earns its place
The FW80CDRU is Hoshizaki's Premier single-door wide freezer, a full-height upright built to the 2/1 gastronorm standard for back-of-house frozen storage. At 810 mm wide and 800 mm deep, the wide body holds 475 litres of frozen stock across four shelves, taking full-size 2/1 gastronorm trays and boxes across a single door without splitting the load between left and right cabinets.
With one full-width door, the whole load opens in a single movement at -25 to -5 °C, so staff can load and pull full gastronorm trays without working around a central divider. The gastronorm shelving keeps stock on standard trays for quick rotation and stock-takes. Running cost is honest: at C-class energy, the FW80CDRU draws around 1776 kWh per year (4.87 kWh per day) — freezers use more energy than fridges, and this is typical for the type.
As a free-standing upright it stands in a back-of-house run rather than under a counter. Allow clear space for the wide door to swing and a clean approach for loading full-depth trays. The 520 W rated input should be checked against kitchen electrical capacity before delivery. Warranty is 5 years parts and labour.
