Why this double door commercial upright freezer earns its place
The KOLDBOX KXF1200 is a double-door upright gastronorm freezer built for kitchens that need serious frozen storage volume rather than a single-door under-counter unit. At 1340mm wide, 840mm deep and a full 2000mm tall, it's a genuine walk-up freezer for back-of-house use — bulk deliveries, batch-cooked stock, or a shared freezer serving more than one section of a kitchen.
Gross capacity runs to 1200 litres across 6 adjustable GN2/1 shelves sized at 535 x 650mm, so full gastronorm trays load straight in without repacking. Cooling is ventilated and refrigerant is R290, with the unit rated Energy Class E and consuming 700 kWh a year — worth weighing against the litres you're getting for the size of kitchen you're freeing up elsewhere. It runs on a 13amp supply and, at 60 dB, is loud enough that siting away from customer-facing areas is worth planning for.
Build is 201 stainless steel inside and out with rounded internal corners for easier cleandown, and the doors are self-closing with a dwell position so they don't hang open mid-service. Integrated door locks and door-responsive LED lighting are standard, and the unit sits on 4 heavy-duty castors — one lockable — so a 221kg freezer can still be repositioned for cleaning or layout changes without needing a forklift. A replaceable door gasket and low-friction integrated handles keep it serviceable long-term.
